No water supply in new Gulliver Lilongwe for the last 5 days
Attached is an interruption notice from Lilongwe Water Board on intermittent water supply from Monday 08th May to Friday 12th May, 2017.
I would like to report a burst water pipe in Area 23 close to Don Bosco at the corner of Kaunda grocery
There seems to be a leakage in the sewer system from the college of health sciences Blantyre campus as can be observed in the attached picture. This has resulted in waste spilling out to the narrow path that stems out of the high-way at Ginnery corner leading to chitawira. May the relevant authorities at Blantyre city council please engage management at the college.
We have not had power here in Area 12 since yesterday morning around 9 due to what I understand is a fault with our transformer. Would ESCOM please assist us.
We citizens of Area 24 feel cheated with the way upgrading of the NCIC road to ZBS has been done. We had expected that the upgrading of the road would run from the M1 Road at NCIC passing through Area 24 Market to ZBS however the upgrading seems to have ended at Area 24 Trading Centre. Why is this the case?

Find attached a notification from the Electricity Generation Company (Malawi) Limited (EGENCO) and the Blantyre Water Board (BWB). EGENCO intends to carry out plant maintenance works at its Nkula and Kapichira Power Stations during the 2017 Easter Holidays and it is expected that this will affect the power generation capacity and also affect the operations of Blantyre Water Board at their Walker's Ferry Water Treatment and Pumping Station.

I would like to report that the M1 road has completely been cut off at Jalawe in Rumphi. Vehicles from Mzuzu or Karonga are using a road that cuts through Mchenga Coal Mine and Ntchenachena to Phwezi.
WATER LEVEL AND POWER GENERATION UPDATE Malawi has been experiencing low to inadequate rainfall in the past ten years. As a result, the water levels in Lake Malawi which is the main reservoir for the Shire River have also been declining year after year. Normally by the month of January of every year, the water level in Lake Malawi is supposed to be 474.5 meters above sea level (masl). This year, however, it was 474.0 mas. This is 1.5 meters below the required levels for maximum and normal power generation throughout the year. The lake levels have been rising due to rainfalls that the country has been experiencing. As at 19th March 2017, the rise was by 0.65 masl to 473.65 masl LAKE LEVEL IMPACT ON POWER GENERATION With such drop in the lake levels, EGENCO Ltd continues to control the flow of the Shire River at Liwonde to ensure that there is adequate water harvested in Lake Malawi from the rains falling in the Central and Northern Regions. The water flow at Liwonde is being restricted to 115 cubic meters per second (cumecs) against the required flow of 260 cumecs for normal power generation. As such, power generation continues to be reduced to about 40% of the total capacity. WATER LEVEL FUTURE OUTLOOK Forecasts by the Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services indicate continuation of rainfall. It is therefore expected that the water level in the lake will continue rising. EGENCO will continue monitoring the water situation and power generation will improve when the water levels are ascertained to have risen to the required levels.
I would like to send out a request to the Ministry of Health and any well wishers that there is an urgent need for a resuscitation machine at Zingwangwa Health Centre.
INSTALLATION OF PREPAID METERING SYSTEM Blantyre Water Board (BWB) would like to inform the public that from 3rd April 2017, it will start installation of pre-paid metering system in the following areas: Soche East, Nkolokosa A and B, Chitawira, Njamba, Chinyonga, Kanjedza, Chiwembe, New Naperi and Mudi Estate in that order.
