Lilongwe Water Board (LWB) would like to inform it's valued customers that it is equally saddened with the incident of water contamination that has happened today(Tuesday 18/07/2017), in some parts of Area 18A.
The Board has been working hard since morning to rectify the problem and it is informing customers that the situation is now under control.
In the said area, one of the supply pipes busted underground and near the vicinity, a broken sewer system was emitting sewer water and this water sipped into our supply pipe.
After noting this, LWB rushed to close the supply line and started working on the broken pipe. The water supply line has been maintained and disinfected and is now being monitored to make sure it is thorough cleaned. The Board will further visit each household in the affected area to test their supply to verify it's fitness for human consumption.
Meanwhile customers are being supplied clean water from a mobile water bowser.
The Board is assuring customers in the area that it is doing its best to restore clean and potable supply of water.
The Board, regrets any inconvenience this may have caused.
