I would like to report a fault with the power lines in Area 1 close to Panobwi grocery and maize mill.
From the past week till today some areas such as 36 and 23 have had no blackouts all day, everyday and if the lights went out it didn't take long for them to come back on. Now for some of us, we are experiencing blackouts on a daily basis (12hr darkness at times). Such things make me wonder why some places are subject to such preferential treatment and why does escom do such but the bills keep coming.
I am reporting from Area 49 New Shire, along Ncheza street there is a transformer that has caught fire. Can ESCOM personnel please hurry and rectify the problem.
MAINTENANCE WORKS OF LILONGWE B, AREA 48, and LILONGWE A 66 KILOVOLTS OVERHEAD LINE In an effort to supply sustainable electrical energy to our customers, we will on Sunday, 19th November 2017 from 8.00 am to 11:00 am switch off our 66KV Overhead line in Lilongwe in order to carry out some scheduled maintenance works. Customers in these areas will be affected and will have no power supply during the maintenance works period: Area 18, the whole Area 49, Part of Area 47, Area 15, Part of Area 6, Area 14, City Centre, Capital Hill, Area 2, Mchesi, Kawale 1&2, Area 4 (Shoprite, Game), Kalyeka, and Area 22, Part of Old Town, Falls, Lilongwe Girls, Biwi Triangle, Upper Biwi, Area 22, Chipasula, Lilongwe Tech. College, Phwetekere, Mwenda Tanks, Area 49 (Gulliver , Shire, Dubai). We remind our customers to switch off all electrical appliances as supply may be restored earlier than advised.
